WE’RE BAAAAACK!!!
Much like the poltergeist from the feature film Poltergeist 2, in person events are back! Because scheduling is scary enough, Silver Space is here to help. Behold, our virtual baby - The Events Calendar - revived by popular demand. Here you can find out when the next gallery opening is, where you can hear free artist talks, and even what you missed out on because you didn’t check the calendar like you should have in the first place. Shame!
If you have an exhibition, event, artist talk, opening, or something tangentially associated, email marinam@silverspacestl.com and we’ll do our best to get you on!

Monthly Music Series: Tonina
Tonina is a singer/songwriter, bassist, music journalist, and poet from Saint Louis, Missouri who performs her original music along with her arrangements in Spanish, Italian and English. She began her musical journey when she was nine years old and was trained classically for 11 years, studying with bassists from the St. Louis Symphony and attending various master classes with Grammy Award-winning bassist, John Clayton. She eventually lead the bass sections of the St. Louis Symphony Youth Orchestra and The Missouri All State Orchestra.
At the age of 17, she was admitted to Berklee College of Music and went on to study bass and Africana Studies. In October 2016, Tonina travelled to Spain to perform at the National Auditorium of Madrid and shortly graduated from Berklee earning two degrees. In 2018, she performed at the Catania Jazz Festival in Sicily touring Italy and Spain. She now performs solo and with her quartet at local venues in Saint Louis. Tonina’s first album, titled King’s Queen, features her Hip Hop material. She has collaborated with producer and friend Dylan Brady, as well as many other St. Louis artists, since 2010. Throughout her career, Tonina has crossed musical boundaries by combining different genres into her own style.

Stitch & Gather
During Stitch & Gather, join us for performances and workshops focused on the art of textiles. Throughout the weekend, Chicago-based artists and married couple Dutes Miller and Stan Shellabarger will perform their ongoing piece "Untitled (Pink Tube)," a performance started in 2003 during which they simultaneously crochet at opposite ends of a long tube of pink yarn. Friday evening from 5-8pm, St. Louis-based artist Basil Kincaid will set up an interactive quilt-making station. On Saturday, designers from SKIF International will host a pop-up production studio where visitors can help make shirts featuring the vibrant designs of Filipino artist Robe Stein. Shirts will be available for purchase at a discounted rate. Knitting circles are also welcome to bring their projects.
Analog Revenge III
HEARding Cats Collective is pleased to present Analog Revenge III, our annual evening of performance on the analogue synthesizer. It is a rare chance to see a presentation of advanced synthesis technique by four artists who have spent much of their lives mastering the voltage-controlled, patch programmable synthesizer.
Rich O'Donnell, Mike Murphy, Kevin Harris, and Josh Kahl represent multiple generations of obsession with and mastery of the analogue synthesizer. All seasoned improvisers, they will perform solo and in group configurations to create the event. Their approaches to synthesis are stylistically diverse, a fact no doubt related to the high degree of programmability inherent to the voltage-controlled synthesizer.
The event takes place at Flood Plain Gallery at 8:00 pm.
The Drowning Girls
Fourth Wall Down theatre collective presents "The Drowning Girls" (by Beth Graham, Daniela Vlaskalic, and Charlie Tomlinson), at Wild Carrot, 8pm, June 22- July 14
George Joseph Smith was a swindler, a con, and one of the first 'multiple murderers' convicted by the English courts, before the phrase 'serial killer' was coined. He hung from a knotted rope in 1915, for the drowning deaths of his three wives. "The Drowning Girls" tells this story... from the postmortem perspective of his unlucky brides.
In addition to collecting donations throughout, Fourth Wall Down will gift 100% of ticket sales from the first two performances to A.L.I.V.E. STL, a local domestic violence advocacy group. "The Drowning Girls" examines themes of female agency, cycles of abuse, and societal pressures. Performances will be housed within a pop-up art gallery filled with locally curated 'survivor' art, mirroring these themes.
