SILVER SPACE ARCHIVES
interviews / essays / reviews
Silver Space started with written material - namely essays and quasi-criticism - establishing a record of artistic production in and around St. Louis. Over time, we added the written interview as we aimed to amplify the voice of the creator (most of the time they were pretty funny and interesting in their raw, transcribed state). Both of these served to document the current moment in St. Louis and filled, what we saw, as a publishing void in the Midwest. Since 2016, we have featured emerging artists, patrons, and figureheads within the artistic community. We highlighted those who enable city-wide events and exhibitions and have shaped our experiences. With the emergence of greater work exchanges across cities, states, and countries, we expanding with the movements of artists, tracking their practices as they evolve.
In 2019, you may or may not know that we started a podcast, cool WIP, derived from the same goals of the interviews, essays, and reviews - and we love that audio record - but I think it’s time to bring back the written record… any way here’s our history.
