During Stitch & Gather, join us for performances and workshops focused on the art of textiles. Throughout the weekend, Chicago-based artists and married couple Dutes Miller and Stan Shellabarger will perform their ongoing piece "Untitled (Pink Tube)," a performance started in 2003 during which they simultaneously crochet at opposite ends of a long tube of pink yarn. Friday evening from 5-8pm, St. Louis-based artist Basil Kincaid will set up an interactive quilt-making station. On Saturday, designers from SKIF International will host a pop-up production studio where visitors can help make shirts featuring the vibrant designs of Filipino artist Robe Stein. Shirts will be available for purchase at a discounted rate. Knitting circles are also welcome to bring their projects.

WE’RE BAAAAACK!!!
Much like the poltergeist from the feature film Poltergeist 2, in person events are back! Because scheduling is scary enough, Silver Space is here to help. Behold, our virtual baby - The Events Calendar - revived by popular demand. Here you can find out when the next gallery opening is, where you can hear free artist talks, and even what you missed out on because you didn’t check the calendar like you should have in the first place. Shame!
If you have an exhibition, event, artist talk, opening, or something tangentially associated, email marinam@silverspacestl.com and we’ll do our best to get you on!
ALINGERING NOTE: in-person gatherings during covid
