WE’RE BAAAAACK!!!

Much like the poltergeist from the feature film Poltergeist 2, in person events are back! Because scheduling is scary enough, Silver Space is here to help. Behold, our virtual baby - The Events Calendar - revived by popular demand. Here you can find out when the next gallery opening is, where you can hear free artist talks, and even what you missed out on because you didn’t check the calendar like you should have in the first place. Shame!

If you have an exhibition, event, artist talk, opening, or something tangentially associated, email marinam@silverspacestl.com and we’ll do our best to get you on!

ALINGERING NOTE: in-person gatherings during covid

During these Quarantimes, we wish everyone the best health and happiness. We are proud to support local galleries, museums, and businesses who are working tirelessly to provide you enjoyable experiences and services. With that being said, we encourage everyone to take proper precautions and mindfulness when spending time in public spaces.

Be sure to visit each venue’s website for information on their COVID-19
business hours, guidelines, and mask policies.

If you are still unsure how to protect yourself and others, please visit the World Health Organization's website for more advice and updates on the COVID-19 outbreak.

Not So Late Night ft. Eve L. Ewing & Hanif Abdurraqib

The Left Bank Books Foundation, Maryville Talks Books, the St. Louis Poetry Center, and UrbArts present Left Bank Books' Not So Late Night with host Cheeraz Gormon, musical guest Katarra & the SoFolkz, and special guests Eve L. Ewing and Hanif Abdurraqib!

Eve L. Ewing is a writer and scholar from Chicago. She is the author of "Electric Arches" (2017) and "When the Bell Stops Ringing: Race, History, and Discourse amid Chicago’s School Closures" (2018). Her work has been published in "Poetry," "The New York Times," "The Atlantic," and elsewhere. A sociologist of education at the University of Chicago, Ewing co-directs Crescendo Literary and is a member of the writing collective Echo Hotel.

Hanif Abdurraqib is a poet, writer, and cultural critic from Columbus, Ohio. He is the author of "The Crown Ain’t Worth Much" (2016) and "They Can’t Kill Us Until They Kill Us" (2017), and co-author of the chapbook "Vintage Sadness" (2017). A Callaloo Creative Writing Fellow, his work has been published in "The FADER," "Pitchfork," "The New Yorker," and "The New York Times." He is a member of the poetry collective Echo Hotel.

Katarra & The SoFolkz is a collaboration of Saint Louis born artists whose respective genres (from hip-hop, to soul, to jazz) are fused into one collaboration of dopeness, an abundance of soul. Along with their many friends who join them in performance (such as Phenom Famlay, the Therapeutics, and Owen Ragland and Friends), they rock the stage in their truest and purest forms of Black Girl Magic and Back Boy Joy, thus they are: SoFolkz.

St. Louis native Cheeraz Gorman is a storyteller, poet, and advertising creative, and author of "In The Midst of Loving" (2015). An apexart 2016 International Fellow, her poetry has been featured nationally and she has appeared at TEDxGatewayArch and other venues. She is the founder and executive director of Sonic Arts United and STLNightWriters, and serves as vice chair of Creative Reaction Lab.

This event is free and open to the public, but proof of purchase of any of the poets' featured titles will be required to enter the signing line.
