WE’RE BAAAAACK!!!

Much like the poltergeist from the feature film Poltergeist 2, in person events are back! Because scheduling is scary enough, Silver Space is here to help. Behold, our virtual baby - The Events Calendar - revived by popular demand. Here you can find out when the next gallery opening is, where you can hear free artist talks, and even what you missed out on because you didn’t check the calendar like you should have in the first place. Shame!

If you have an exhibition, event, artist talk, opening, or something tangentially associated, email marinam@silverspacestl.com and we’ll do our best to get you on!

ALINGERING NOTE: in-person gatherings during covid

During these Quarantimes, we wish everyone the best health and happiness. We are proud to support local galleries, museums, and businesses who are working tirelessly to provide you enjoyable experiences and services. With that being said, we encourage everyone to take proper precautions and mindfulness when spending time in public spaces.

Be sure to visit each venue’s website for information on their COVID-19
business hours, guidelines, and mask policies.

If you are still unsure how to protect yourself and others, please visit the World Health Organization's website for more advice and updates on the COVID-19 outbreak.

MEGHAN GRUBB
Meghan makes works of sculpture and installation that explore the non-rational and intuitive responses of wonder and anxiety.
Investigating what is at stake when we engage with the fringe of our conscious experience, Grubb focuses on the ways that we respond – both physically and emotionally – to precarious situations. She observes and questions the potential realities that arise from experience within confounding environments, and how memory, the subconscious, and direct perception mix to produce sensory response. Meghan has exhibited internationally at Sculpture Center (Cleveland, OH), the Wassaic Project (Wassaic, NY), Heaven Gallery (Chicago), and the Urban Institute for Contemporary Art (Grand Rapids, MI) among others, and has received numerous awards and grants. She is a founding member of Monaco and received her M.F.A. Art + Design from the University of Michigan in 2012, and her B.A. History + Studio Art from Wellesley College in 2005.

DREW NIKONOWICZ
Drew Nikonowicz earned a BFA degree from the University of Missouri - Columbia in 2016. His work employs analog photographic processes as well as computer simulations to deal with exploration and experience in contemporary culture. He is also the owner of Localhost Gallery, a virtual art gallery accessed through Minecraft, and of Standard Cameras, an up and coming company that will sell inexpensive large format cameras. He has exhibited both nationally and internationally. In 2015 he received the Aperture Portfolio Prize and the Lenscratch Student Prize. Nikonowicz recently completed a one-year residency at Fabrica Research Centre in Italy, and now lives and works in the United States in Saint Louis, Missouri.

JONATHAN HANAHAN
Jonathan Hanahan is an artist and designer whose practice explores the cultural and social ramifications of experiences which transcend physical and digital occupations and the role technology plays in shaping, mediating, and disrupting our everyday realities. He develops Thick Interfaces—tools, devices, softwares, artifacts, websites, videos, etc. which agitate the digital facade and reveal the physical reality and complexity which exist underneath the thin veneer of our digital devices. Hanahan received his BARCH from Virginia Tech and his MFA from The Rhode Island School of Design. In addition to his studio practice, Hanahan is an Assistant Professor in the Sam Fox School of Design & Visual Arts at Washington University in St. Louis.
