By popular demand, we're scheduling a second Modern Calligraphy workshop with Emma Vonder Haar! The first session filled up faster than any of our other workshops, so don't miss out on this second opportunity to sign up!
In this workshop, you'll learn the basic principles of modern calligraphy from an experienced instructor. Emma will walk you through the strokes you'll need to create a modern calligraphic alphabet. You'll also learn some useful drills that you can practice at home to improve your skills with a traditional dip pen and ink.
In addition to Emma's beautiful, hand-lettered instructions, you'll get to take home this complete supply kit:
• Tombow MONO pencil, HB
• Carbon black shellac ink, 30mL, handmade at South City Art Supply
• Bee Calligraphy Practice Pad, 9” x 12”
• Brause Steno calligraphy nib
• Henry’s “Skeleton Pen” antique nib
• Universal nib holder
• South City pen cleaner
• 2.5 oz. stainless steel palette cup
• Cotton rag

WE’RE BAAAAACK!!!
Much like the poltergeist from the feature film Poltergeist 2, in person events are back! Because scheduling is scary enough, Silver Space is here to help. Behold, our virtual baby - The Events Calendar - revived by popular demand. Here you can find out when the next gallery opening is, where you can hear free artist talks, and even what you missed out on because you didn’t check the calendar like you should have in the first place. Shame!
If you have an exhibition, event, artist talk, opening, or something tangentially associated, email marinam@silverspacestl.com and we’ll do our best to get you on!
